Governor Patrick Announces $2.75 million investment for a new Public Park in Lawrence

packed into Chester's in Lawrence yesterday. Remarking on the Governor's support of various projects in Lawrence, Rosa said, "By making an investment in the city, he made an investment in me, and I plan to use that opportunity to the fullest."

 

In his remarks, Governor Patrick announced a $2.75 million investment to help create a public park at the Ferrous Site in Lawrence--located at the confluence of North Canal, and the Spicket and Merrimack Rivers. The City of Lawrence and Groundwork Lawrence will be managing this exciting new project in partnership.

Earth Day, Comcast Cares Day is on for this Saturday, May 3!
Earth Day New Date Join us on the North Common for registration starting at 8:00. We will kick-off the event at 8:30 and head to sites by 9:00. Lunch will take place back at the North Common at noon. Can't make it to the Common? That's OK! You can just go outside & clean your block, street, local park or alleyway!  

 

For those of you planning on attending, here are the event details:

 

When: Saturday, May 3, 2014.

 

Where: Campagnone Common in Lawrence for beginning and end of day, other sites.

 

What: The day will begin at Campagnone Common for registration, breakfast, site assignment and brief welcome remarks. Volunteers will then take a bus, walk  or drive to their sites for cleaning and beautification projects. Lunch celebration will begin at noon back at Campagnone Common. 

 

What to Wear: Work pants, light jacket, closed toe shoes. We will provide work gloves.

 

What to Bring: Water, sunscreen, hat, filled out volunteer waiver (you may also fill one out the day of the event).

Where to Park 

Free street parking is available around the Common.

 

Free parking in lots is available:

Episcopal Church (35 Jackson St., lot on Common St.)

Lot next to City Hall (200 Common St.)

Lot next to Court House (Common St.)

Lot on Essex St. behind Court House

Lot at the corner of Canal and Lawrence St. (next to Claddagh) 

  

Note: No event parking will be available at the Lawrence Senior Center.
