This week all pickled products and salsa's are 10% off.  It may not seem like much but it's just in time to help out with those hostess gifts, gift baskets or just a different taste for that holiday party you don't know what to bring.  Some of the flavors and styles we have are Pickled Beets and Carrots, Salsa's include Apple (of course!) Chile Relleno, Chunky Homestyle, Grande, and Pepper Patch

As always we  have Apples, Potatoes, Pies, Fudge, Honey, Maple products and many other unique gift ideas are waiting for you at Abbott Farms.

What's Happening on the farm?
Fairly often we get the question, "So what do you do all winter?"
As you all scramble to get ready for the holidays and go to all those school and church special events, we are doing the same while hustling to get ready for next year.  The boring government regulation compliance season has begun for Warren :-(   For Mike and Dad, it's a lot more fun.  Big old apple trees have to come out to make way for the new smaller trees.  Raspberry trellises have to be extended because the pruning Mike did last year has caused the canes to grow bigger and longer.  New Strawberry and Raspberry plants have been ordered.  We are getting ready to plant Raspberries right next to the Blueberries so you will be able to pick both without moving your car!  Equipment is being repaired and modified.  The Silver market truck just got new front springs and many other tired suspension parts replaced.  We are getting ready to give the strawberries their warm winter straw blanket so the straw chopper is in the barn getting gone over.   The farm's central heating system just got a booster pump to make the whole thing work better.   Several trees that were endanger of falling on power lines along 370 have been dropped off here for firewood.  So we have cutting and splitting to do too.   The new batch of calves comes Saturday and the yearlings are in the barn now.  Ellen is taking great care of the sheep and goats.  It does go on and on.  On a farm you have to decide when the work is done and go home to your family.  It's one of the hazards of the occupation.  There is always more you could do.  We have so many things on the punchlist to get ready for even bigger crops in 2014!

Birthday Parties and Tours

Book those dates now so you know you have the one you want.

We made changes and they are working!

We are made it easier to contact our off-site coordinator, Darlene.

Her email now stands alone, tours@abbottfarms.com.  It used to come into our general mailbox, now it goes only to Darlene.  She has her own exclusive phone number, too.  Leave her a message and she will get back to you. 315-289-2706
