U-pick update
Strawberries This weekend will still be awesome! Next weekend not so much. We just opened the last varieties: Record, Ovation, and Valley Sunset. All the varieties are pickable, but the last ones will have the giant berries. Next week there will still be lots of berries, just not so big.
Cherries We picked out the first variety, "Cavalier" in ONE day! Check on Monday to see if the next variety, Summit, will be ready. Stay tuned for Lambert and Hudson, they will go quickly. Someone asked if we had Rainier and although we don't, we have a reason: it blossoms earlier than other varieties making it more vulnerable to frost damage early on in the season. After two straight years of major frost damage, we have to pay attention to that characteristic.
Raspberries We are picking a few for markets and the store now. We expect to have enough to open u-pick with the variety Prelude and a few purples on Monday.
Blueberries We are guessing two more weeks at least.
Beef The last shipment of steers is soon to be sent off. Get you order in today for custom cut. Email Joanne directly at japeck@abbottfarms.com
