Shabbat Shira Shira
Sat., Jan 23: During Services & At 7 PM

Join us for a special celebration of Shabbat Shira (Shabbat of Song)!

On Shabbat Shira, we read the Torah account of the crossing of the Red Sea by the Israelites. The climax of the reading is Shirat HaYam (The Song of the Sea) with its lofty, rolling musical melody. During services, (as January's Year of Torah Parasha Connection) Congregational Educator D.Marcos Vital will give a visual presentation about Shirat HaYam and why it's special, and why it looks so different than the other parts of the Torah.

Then, in the evening, join Beth Jacob's own Shira Schwartz for a special Erev Shira at the end of Shabbat Shira; an Erev Shira Shira, if you will. Bring musical instruments if you're got them, and come ready to sing and have fun!
