Havdallahween?

It seems that after the success of last year's 'Challahween', the people over at Halloween have scheduled it for Saturday night this year, just in time for Havdallah! Of course, you'll want to observe Havdallah before you go out on Saturday night the 31st, but where will you get your own Havdallahween candle to light and Pumpkin Spice to smell? Never fear, we're putting it all in a goodie bag for you!

Stop by Beth Jacob and get your free Havdallahween kit today (even if you have not reserved one previously)!

Sha-boo-a Tov!

RichDr. Deb Rich
This Shabbat morning during Services
In Jewish life the birth of every child represents unlimited hope for the Jewish community. But if the expected baby dies, too often, profound loss is suffered in isolation without the usual support from Jewish tradition and Jewish community. Dr. Deb Rich, reproductive psychologist and Beth Jacob member, will discuss the background and vision for the Minnesota Jewish Pregnancy Loss Initiative, the mission of which is to disseminate knowledge to community leadership, strengthen partnerships with the medical community and improve family access to expert support services by mobilizing existing infrastructures which support Jewish life.
OZY
O.Z.Y.* Returns

What is O.Z.Y.*? A Shabbat afternoon time of sitting in close, concentric circles and singing songs, chants, niggunim, and rounds in harmony. Sing to praise God, to open your heart, to make something beautiful together.
All are welcome to participate.

Childcare will be available. To volunteer to lead a song, or to suggest or request one, please contact Pam Winthrop Lauer at (952) 432- 7038 or wpdj@usfamily.net.

Judaism in the
21st Century:
A Discussion Group
Thursdays at 10 am
with Rabbi Tamar

How do we understand and express our Judaism in the 21st Century? As Jews we find ourselves compelled to respond to the challenges of our ever-changing world, scientific discovery and increased awareness of the suffering in our world. Arthur Green says that these experiences create "challenges to conventional theological views." We will use Green's book Radical Judaism to explore these ideas together and create an open space in which to share new ideas.
