Beth Jacob Bayou Barbecue Needs You!
Our 30th anniversary fundraiser is asking for your good ideas and a bit of your time. We're looking for fun and desirable silent and live auction items. And we need everyone's help to get them. Choose one: - Take a walk around your neighborhood - walk into the businesses you normally patronize - and ask for a donation. If you're a loyal customer, chances are greater you'll get a "yes." The worst that can happen? They say no. No sweat, it's not personal!
- If you have season tickets to a sports team, a theatre, the opera......donate a pair of tickets for one game or performance.
- Get together with fellow congregants and organize a meal, a class, or social event: two examples: "Yiddish Beyond Oy Vey" - a one-hour class taught by Margie Newman; "The Sweetness of Learning" (an evening of desserts and learning) with Jewish Studies faculty.
- Purchase an item you think is just great (don't you just love those immersion blenders?!) and put it the silent auction.
Our fundraiser is Sunday, June 14th at noon. So, time is of the essence. If you would like to get a copy of a donation request letter and form, just email Beth Friend after Shabbat and Shavuot - at bfriend@stpauljcc.org and we'll get them right out to ya. |
Siyyum Limudim
This Shabbat is our final Kehillat Shabbat of the year! We will celebrate our learning with a Siyum Limudim - a ceremony of completion of our school year.
The Siyum begins with the Torah service, so please arrive in shul EARLY! (That means by 9:45.) As always, Iyunim begins at 9:30 in our normal classrooms.
We are excited to acknowledge children, teachers, madrichim, and learners of all ages and in all venues within our community. Special honors will go to 5th grade students and graduating seniors.
Throughout the summer we will have Youth Tefillah and programs after Torah service for children in Kindergarten and above. |
