Neilah/Break the Fast
See Yom Kippur all the way to the end; make sure to join us for the Neilah service! As the "gates" of Yom Kippur close, we join together as a community for this beautiful service, followed by an outside havdalah (weather permitting) where every kid gets a havdalah candle to keep, and finishing with a light meal to break the fast here at Beth Jacob!
Break the fast refreshments following the Yom Kippur Neilah service are provided courtesy of an endowment established by the Bernick family in memory of Bernice and Milton Bernick (z"l).

Thank Our Officers
This year at Beth Jacob we are asking kids to make cards, letters, pictures, etc., at home to bring to Beth Jacob on Yom Kippur to give to the police officers who are outside. We will be delivering them in groups during children's programming.

High Holiday Melodies
On Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, our daily and weekly liturgy is expanded to include the themes of the days; This year, our shlichei tzibur gathered to choose some musical motifs that they will use throughout these Days of Awe, beginning with Selichot and continuing through Yom Kippur.
Click here to listen or download a selection of recordings (some by our shlichei tzibur, some by others) that you can listen to, to evoke the mood of the holidays or to learn some of the music ahead of time so you can join in singing heartily in the moment.

Kever Avot/Visiting the Cemetery

Please call Michael Volk to volunteer to assist in reciting the El Moleh Rahamin Prayer or if you have questions. Michael can be reached at 612-251-3977. |

Siddur Hebrew
9:45-11 am Sun. Mornings Beginning Oct. 19
With Rachel Levitt
For adults who can decode the Hebrew alphabet and vowels and want to deepen their understanding of Hebrew text. This course will use the book "Prayerbook Hebrew the Easy Way", which uses the language of the siddur to build learners' understanding of Hebrew vocabulary and grammar towards a real understanding of the texts we encounter most frequently in our Jewish lives. (It's actually easy!)
Course costs $100/participant; please purchase a copy of the book for yourself online in advance of the first session. As always, we do not want cost to be a barrier to participation. If cost is a problem, please contact Rabbi Morris Allen or Rabbi Emma Kippley-Ogman.
