 New Cinema Chavurah
Sun, March 10, 7 pm
Beth Jacob is proud to announce the formation of the Cinema Chavurah! It is for cinema enthusiasts who wish to informally get together and share their passion for good (or not so good) films.
Paris Manhattan. It is a French comedy about, who else but, Woody Allen! Rumor has it that a very famous filmmaker makes a cameo in the film too! Please note that the Cinema Chavurah will choose another movie to attend in about another month. Any suggestions are welcome. And they do not need to be of Jewish content.
Please e-mail Zach Feinstein ( zsfeinstein@yahoo.com) to let him know if you and/or others will be coming, want to carpool, or need a ride. Feel free to just show up. We will see you at the movies!

After Kiddush on March 23, the Social Justice Committee will present a workshop on lobbying your legislator on social justice issues. The session will provide information on how to be most effective when you contact your representatives, including how to prepare and "Dos" and "Don'ts" about the visit, phone call, or e-mail. In addition we will provide talking points on the important topics of foreclosure, gun control, and immigration, since bills concerning each of these issues are currently before the legislature.
This legislature is much more interested in social justice than those of the last four years, and with a Governor who is also supportive, we have a window of opportunity this year to enact some legislation important to Minnesota. Each legislator needs to feel that her or his constituents support these bills, and the way to show that is by expressing your position in an informed way.
