The Jewish Art of Everyday Peacemaking

Taught by Rabbi Amy Eilberg

This course examines classical Jewish texts on the art of everyday peacemaking. Based on materials developed by the Pardes Institute: Conflict Resolution Institute, we will study fascinating, little-known texts on the pursuit of peace- exploring what it means for each of us to be a "Rodef Shalom" (a pursuer of peace) in our own lives.

For more information, contact Rabbi Amy Eilberg at rebamy@eilberg.com.

"DAKOTA 38" Trailer

Our program features the documentary film Dakota 38, which retraces a 330-mile horseback journey from South Dakota to Mankato, Minnesota, the site of the mass hanging at the end of the U.S.-Dakota War. The ride was inspired by a dream of Lakota Spiritual Leader Jim Miller, who undertook the trip as a means to bring healing to all.

Following the film, Jim Miller and Alberta Iron Cloud, Oglala Lakota, will have a conversation with the audience.
