Bird Park Summer Concert - Saturday, July 11

Friends of Balboa Park is a proud sponsor of the Bird Park summer concert series. The outdoor summer concerts are FREE and take place at Bird Park, located in Balboa Park at the corner of 28th, Upas, and Pershing Drive, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Centennial Lecture Series - Thursday July 16

San Diego History Center has been hosting the  Centennial Lecture Series and we encourage all to attend. This month's lecture - "Ingenuity, Innovation, and Invention" - is Thursday, July 16, 6-7:30 pm by accomplished author, educator and researcher Mary Walshok, Ph.D. The fee for non museum members is $12 and advance reservations are required.

Art in Bloom at the Spanish Village Art Center
Saturday & Sunday - July 25 & 26, 11am-5pm


Our good friends at Spanish Village Art Center and San Diego Floral Association are partnering to bring you this special weekend event of floral interpretations of artists' works combined for a creative experience. Enjoy floral and art demonstrations, plus lively entertainment and refreshments.

A Special July Balboa Park Breakfast Dialogue 

On Thursday, July 30, 7-9 am, our friends at Citizens Coordinate for Century 3 are hosting a breakfast dialogue: Celebrating and Embracing San Diego's '"Jewel" for the Next 100 Years.

The event promises to be special with a hosted, sit down breakfast outdoors in the beautiful Casa Del Rey Moro Garden. A distinguished panel has been assembled, including architectural historian Milford Wayne Donaldson, Executive Director of the Balboa Park Cultural Partnership Peter Comiskey, architect and academic Michael Stepner, and the new Balboa Park Conservancy Executive Director & CEO Thomas Herrera-Mishler.
The fee for non C3 members is $60 and advance reservations are required.

Friends of Balboa Park will be hosting a walking tour immediately following of our Adopt-A-Plot gardens by Master Gardener and Horticulture Chair Lucy Warren.

Twilight in the Park Celebrates the Centennial
Friends of Balboa Park to Host Ice-Cream Social!
 
Twilight in the Park Concerts
On Tuesday, August 4, Friends of Balboa Park will host an Ice-Cream Social before the Twilight in the Park concert by Heliotrope.  The theme of this special Centennial 2015 concert is "1915 in the Park" and there will be antique cars and a barbershop quartet to enjoy prior to the main concert which starts at 6:30 p.m.

Historic Signs Installed!
