This month, together with Park & Recreation, we are helping our friends around the Park get their garden
plots planted in our Adopt-A-Plot program. Please join us at the end of this month to plant in Alcazar Garden. (pictured)

We hope you'll get out and enjoy everything the Park has to offer from our creative friends at the museums and park organizations who are all pulling out the stops for the 2015 Centennial - all year long!

All Things Balboa Park Centennial!

Balboa Park institutions are hosting all sorts of wonderful events, exhibits, films, walking tours and lectures, all designed to celebrate, elevate, and promote Balboa Park for the Centennial! We've created a page on our website devoted to promoting the events which may be of interest to you. Click on the images above to visit our Balboa Park Centennial page on our website: friendsofbalboapark.org.  The images are from the special Centennial banners, funded in part by Friends of Balboa Park.  Enjoy!
Adopt-A-Plot Program Gets Busy!
As you walk around the Park, take a closer look at some of the new plants, hanging flower pots, seasonal color, and native plantings in many of the Parks' garden beds. Our Adopt-A-Plot program is in full swing, as hundreds of volunteers are hard at work beautifying the Park's gardens.

You will soon see garden signs (pictured at left) installed in the plots where work has been completed.  Please visit our Adopt-A-Plot page on the website to see a complete listing of the garden plots that have been adopted and the garden clubs, horticulture groups, park organizations and businesses contributing to this program.  Many plots are still available for adoption.  Please e-mail Friends of Balboa Park for more information. Pictured above: Coastal Sage Gardening and Botany for Kids work in their adopted Plot in front of the Lily Pond. Volunteers are welcome to attend our next work party in Alcazar Garden, sponsored by San Diego Rotary Club, Friday, February 27 from 9am-12pm.  Please e-mail our office to sign up: leslie@friendsofbalboapark.org.
