Greetings! We have many events coming up in the next couple of weeks at Messiah. Don't forget to read the Upcoming Events section of our email!
Also, if you are looking for a church home, remember that you're invited to join us for worship, Sunday School, and activities at Messiah Lutheran Church. We consider all of our school families part of our church family as well. Read below for more ways to connect.

Food Drive Update
| Messiah Church and School continues our food drive this week. We've filled 7 grocery carts so far! Pick up a bag in the atrium, and help us stock the Fairview Hunger Center with non-perishables and hygiene items. Thank you for your help! We'll wrap up this food drive this week, and we look forward to sharing our final results with you.

Great American Fundraiser
| Submit orders by 9/29 for PRIZES!
You/your student brought home a fundraising packet from Messiah School. This fundraiser is a great opportunity for Messiah to raise funds for student activities, trips, and materials, which benefit all students. Great American Fundraising offers some wonderful incentives to students and families. We try to earn funds through one large fundraiser, rather than many smaller ones.
Students/parents should also register online at www.gaschoolstore.com for their online sales ID (and for the $5,000 drawing!).Friends and family can shop online at www.gaschoolstore.com using school ID# 3230513.
Prizes are awarded to students based on their sales submitted by Sept. 29, but friends and family may continue to shop all year. Thank you for supporting a quality experience for your child at Messiah School! Have fun earning those prizes!

Cafeteria Volunteers Wanted
| Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
Looking for a way to help out at Messiah? Are you good at working with kids? Have some time regularly available at mid-day on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays? Messiah is looking for cafeteria monitor volunteers. Monitors help students sign in for lunch, help monitor behavior (which, in general, is quite good), and help dismiss students in an orderly fashion. Available to help us out from 11:00-1:00? Classes, Groups, and Membership at Messiah
| New Member Classes began Wednesday, Sept. 16, 7 p.m.--but you can STILL join!
This 6-week course is for prospective members, for people who simply want to learn what Lutherans are all about, or those who'd like to take a fresh look at the essential nuts and bolts of the Christian faith. Interested, or know someone else who might be? Please call or email the church office (440) 331-2405 or church@messiahfp.org.
This is a two-year, once weekly walk through the Bible is offered on Wednesday evenings. Can't commit to two years? Consider joining for one or more of the 10 week sessions. More info on the church website. |

Dance for 7th and 8th Grade Students

Saturday, September 26, 7:00 -10:00 p.m.
Cruise back to school at Messiah's dance! All Lutheran School 7th and 8th graders are welcome at the first dance of the school year. $5 admission at the door; casual cruise attire (no short shorts, camis, bare midriffs, or swimwear).

Messiah's Run/Walk Club
| Saturdays, 8 a.m., at the Rocky River Nature Center in the Metroparks
Messiah's Running/Walking Club had its first outing on Saturday, 8am at the Rocky River Nature Center in the Metroparks. We'll be meeting every Saturday, and we want you to come too! There will be multiple pace groups -- all ages and levels of fitness welcome. Strollers are welcome too! This is a great way to connect to other Messiah Church and School families, and enjoy the natural beauty of creation. Fitness, fellowship, and fun. That's our motto, and we're sticking to it! Join the group on Facebook, or just show up. The more the merrier! Wear Green! |

Picture Day!

Picture Day is coming up at Messiah School! Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 1. Retakes (and pictures for the 3-year-old class) are scheduled for Tues., November 10. Order forms went home today! Rather than standard dress code, students may DRESS UP for picture day. [No jeans, please]

Messiah Day at Max & Erma's

Dine at Max & Erma's at Crocker Park (30105 Detroit Road, Westlake) on Thursday, October 15, and a portion of your food sales will be donated to support Messiah's 7th and 8th grade class trip to Washington, D.C. this spring. Enjoy a night out with other Messiah families!

Volleyball
| Come cheer on the Messiah Blazer girls volleyball team on Friday, Sept. 25 at Lutheran High School West! The Blazers take on Royal Redeemer at 5:30 and Our Shepherd at 6:20. Gooooooo Blazers!!!!
