Messiah School's Weekly Email
Dear Families & Friends of Messiah Lutheran School,

6th grade displays harvest from school garden

We have had a fantastic opening week!  It is a joy to welcome our returning and new students. It's a blessing to be a part of a wonderful tradition of serving students and their families.  We know that God will bless the year with cognitive, physical, and spiritual growth.

ABOUT THIS EMAIL:  The weekly BWEmail will be sent on MONDAYS beginning next week.  Please plan to read this email completely each week.  The majority of our information will be shared through email and our website, and we want to do our best to keep all families in the know.

Again, welcome to the year.  We are delighted to have each of you as part of the Messiah family.

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
  --Matthew 19:14

Lunches
meat-sandwich.jpg School lunch menus went home this week.  Thank you to the many people who brought them back already!   Look them over carefully, keep one copy filled out on your fridge, and send your child's order  on Monday!  Ordering in advance allows us to make healthy lunches from whole foods while keeping costs down and avoiding waste.  The lunch calendar can also be viewed on the school website, and will soon be added to JupiterGrades as well.  Thank you for not including nuts in your child's lunch.  For nut-free options, check out this safe snack guide!

FACTS Billing for Lunch and Before/After Care
This year, in order to be good stewards of our resources, and to help our families prevent falling behind on lunch and before/after care fees, we are requiring a deposit account for lunch and before/after care.  Students will still sign for lunches and beverages, and those fees will be debited from your account.  You will still receive notice of those debits.  Add funds to your child's lunch account by logging in to FACTS, scrolling below "Payment Plan & Billing" to "Deposits."  Select "Add Funds" by clicking on the green button, circled in the screen snip below.

Parent Information Night
We look forward to seeing you at Parent Information Night on Thursday, September 3, beginning at 6:00 p.m.!

The evening will begin together in the Commons, and will conclude with  a presentation by the classroom teachers. Parent attendance is expected for this evening, as important information is presented about the coming school year. Please note that this is for parents only. Students should not be in the building on this evening.  If you are unable to attend, please contact the school office as soon as possible.

We encourage you to use the times you are not in a classroom to visit the computer lab!  There, you may configure your Jupiter Grades and FACTS accounts, register your Giant Eagle and Target cards to earn points for Messiah, buy Scrip gift cards, and take care of other back-to-school tasks.
