Drum Roll Please....!
Finally, I have a cover to share with you for my new book releasing February 9, 2016, Forsaken God?: Remembering the Goodness of God Our Culture Has Forgotten. God put this book on my heart nine years ago, but as I watch the world spiral out of control, I know why He waited until now to release it: Christians need to remember why they are Christians and share their hope and faith with a hurting world that has forsaken and forgotten God.
The publisher Leafwood and I have encountered many obstacles in getting this book off to the printer, and I could write another book about the spiritual attacks on my family and me while I was writing it. But what God sets in motion, Satan can never stop, as long as we're willing to persevere and not grow weary doing God's work. I know God will use this book in a mighty way because Satan tried so hard to hinder the process of getting it into the hands of readers.
Just like Peter who told Jesus he would never deny Him, many Christians have forgotten the very foundations of their faith. They banter around what Jesus would do today, but their rhetoric only reveals how little they know the Jesus of the Bible and why He went to the cross. We desperately need mentors who can guide newer believers, seekers, and those doubting their faith or living in fear, to the Bible with all the answers and the God who offers grace once we repent and seek His forgiveness.
As you set around the table with family and friends this Thanksgiving, let the first thing you give thanks for be your salvation in Christ. I hope you won't be hesitant to profess your faith even--especially--if there are unbelievers among you. They are the ones who need most to hear your testimony and gratefulness for a life made new through a belief in Christ. You never know if this might be your last chance to tell them ... never put off until tomorrow what you can do today.
Here's a sneak preview into the chapter in Forsaken God? where I share a way we remember God's goodness and honor Him as our special guest at our house during Thanksgiving. Feel free to share at your house too:
The Thanksgiving following my first breast cancer surgery, I had an idea of a Thankful Tablecloth. I purchased a Thanksgiving-themed tablecloth with plenty of white space and a box of wash-resistant colored markers. After Thanksgiving dinner, I brought out the markers and asked everyone-kids included-to find a spot on the tablecloth to write what they were thankful for that year, sign it, and date it. We traced handprints for the tiny ones with their name and age.
Today, we have years of thankful messages to read every Thanksgiving and remember the many acts of God's goodness to us and the people who joined us at the celebration table each year. If we go to someone's house for Thanksgiving dinner, I ask if I can bring our Thankful Tablecloth and markers.
When I go to be with the Lord, I pray my family will continue bringing out the Thankful Tablecloth as a reminder through the generations of how good God has been to our family and friends.

FEATURED BOOK OF THE MONTH
Face-To-Face with Lois and Eunice
Nurturing Faith in Your Family
Thanksgiving is the perfect opportunity to nurture faith in your famly. In this study we learn from the grandmother and mother of Timothy who Paul wrote about in 2Timothy 1:5 (The Message). "That precious memory triggers another: your honest faith--and what a rich faith it is handed down from your grandmother Lois to your mother Eunice and now to you!"

Hi Janet, God put it on my heart how important mentoring is. Like you, I felt like there was a distinction between discipleship and mentoring to an extent. Most people I talked to didn't see a distinction. As I searched for information on Amazon I saw your books, ordered the Woman to Woman Ministry Coordinator's Guide and realized, finally someone else understood what I felt God was telling me. I then got started on the Woman To Woman Mentoring group.
This is our second year and we still have a lot to learn and vamp, but even in my frailty last year, I saw lives moved and that spurred me to go on this year. Last year I also taught 2 of your Face-To-Face Bible Studies and the women loved them. In God's grace, Debbie Mintz, NLCC Women's Director

"GRAMMIE'S CORNER"
Worshiping Together at Winter Jam 2015 Boise
Part of granddaughter Katelyn's turning-10-birthday present from us was taking her to Winter Jam 2015 Boise. This is a Christian concert featuring 10 bands for $10. What a marvelous sight to see an arena full of Christians praising God through worship and testimonies from Sadie Robinson, Tony Nolan, and the performers. I have to admit the music was loud, but we just put in earplugs.
I was so proud and grateful to be enjoying this with Katelyn. We had great seats and to watch her swaying, clapping, and singing to Christian lyrics and musicians swelled my heart with pride and gratitude for her salvation. She took video clips on my phone so she could share with her brother and sister.
Yes, we had to stand in line in the cold. Yes, the band Skillet was loud and I couldn't understand their lyrics. Yes, it still wasn't over at 11 pm on a Thursday night, and I had to speak the next morning and Katelyn had school. Yes, there was a huge crowd. Yes, the memories we made with this sweet girl were worth every minute of it to hear her say, "I want to do this again next year!"
In the "Generation to Generation" section of Forsaken God?, I point out that we grandparents need to get out of our comfort zones and do something out-of-the-box with our grandkids to join them in their world. These are memories they will never forget.

Meet An Author
What a Bragger!
and Fast Freddy
By Lee Ann Mancini
Why did you choose to go into the publishing industry, in addition to, becoming a Christian children's author?
The publishing industry is a wonderful industry in which one can make a difference in the world, hopefully for the better! I wanted to become an author/publisher to create the very best illustrated books for children, encouraging them to pray to God during difficult times, expressing compassion, concern and love for others. There is a need for children's books that encourage a strong foundational relationship with Jesus.
Our mission is to promote Christian values for children. In a world that increasingly emphasizes what is best for the individual at the cost of others, and in a world where godly truth is replaced with personal falsehoods and desires, we desperately need to capture the minds of our children, instilling godly morals and values in them as soon as possible. They need to know more than biblical stories. They need to know that Jesus is God and that they should pray to Him during difficult times.
They also need to learn compassion and love for others. God's word clearly states, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6, NKJV). Two-year-olds love these books! They emulate what they see on the page. They see the characters praying to Jesus and loving others! These books are one of the best tools to "train up a child in the way he should go."
Tell us about the first two books of the series titled Fast Freddy and What A Bragger!
Fast Freddy overcomes the ridicule of being different from the other kids in his new school. He joins the swim team, and the kids learn how special he is. Freddy helps them win the championship for the first time by overcoming Marcus, a formidable threat on the opposing team. Freddy receives the MVP award, and he says a prayer of thanks to Jesus for being different and having great friends!
Melissa Blowfish likes to brag that she can swim the fastest, climb the highest, and has the best of everything. Corey finds her crying in the sand box with her broken shovel, the only toy she has. He convinces the kids at school to all chip in for her birthday present with treasure coins. Melissa prays, giving thanks to God for her friends, and she learns that true friendship is found in love!
What are some of the accomplishments you have been blessed to receive?
GLM(God Loves Me) Publishing produces a multiple, award-winning series titled Adventures of the Sea Kids. In 2015, we have received a Mom's Choice Award, a Benjamin Franklin Award, and a Florida Authors & Publishers Award! We are enthusiastic and passionate about creating books that entertain and capture the minds of children. We are excited to release, in 2016, two more books and plush toys! Part of our proceeds goes towards children charities.
Connie Friedland, a Spanish River Christian School Teacher stated, "As a teacher, we are always looking for moral based books. I wish more authors would consider value/Christian topics. Thank you for this cute new book with a great lesson." The lesson for me is learning that God will bless you when you truly are doing His work!
