Music Together's CEO, Susan Darrow, has been teaching at a senior facility in Princeton, NJ, for the past year. As she puts it, "If you could see the faces of the grandfriends when the children come in the room, it's magic. They light up. And when the whole room is singing and swaying to 'You Are My Sunshine,' it's like nothing else in the world. It's hard to put the power of this into words."
Every day, in retirement homes, assisted living facilities, and adult day services centers, people of all ages come together to sing, dance, shake eggs, and swing scarves during Music Together Generations classes. From babies cooing to the elders' soulful and spirited sounds, the experience evokes the best of what family music-making is all about.
Ask your Music Together teacher about joining a Generations class near you.
