PLAY VIDEO
This academic year marks Music Together's twenty-fifth birthday. To celebrate, Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Gerry, and Grandma Yvette got together to perform at a very special benefit concert for hundreds of lucky Music Together families. Here's a bit of the experience for those of you who were unable to join us. Enjoy the video---and keep an eye out for more concert video footage as the year goes on!

We're celebrating our birthday until next fall, so continue to visit our website for more ways your family can join in on the fun---and share your favorite Music Together memories with us.

Book Giving Day
February 14, 2013, is not just Valentine's Day: It's also International Book Giving Day! This volunteer initiative is aimed at increasing children's access to and enthusiasm for books by encouraging people to give a book to a child on February 14.

Any of our new line of Music Together Singalong Storybooks---Hello, Everybody!, She Sells Sea Shells, and One Little Owl---would be perfect to share. These books inspire singing, pre-literacy learning, and imaginative play between children and their favorite adults.

The newest book in the series, One Little Owl, is now available on the Music Together online store. This humorous and charming storybook, based on "One Little Owl" from this spring's Tambourine Song Collection, is a fun and engaging book for children and adults to read and sing together.

Music: The Universal Language

by Kate Battenfeld

Music Together families collectively speak over two dozen languages and live in more than forty countries around the world, but thanks to Music Together, we are all part of a global community of music-makers sharing the same songs.

For teachers Terri Gabriel of New York City, and Jade Jossen of Bologna, Italy, Music Together provided a common language during a weeklong "professional swap." And for the Coyle family, the program helped ease the transition to life in Switzerland and then back to the US for their young son. Read their stories here---and please share yours with us on our 25th Anniversary web page.

Music Together Teachers Terri Gabriel and Jade Jossen

Terri Gabriel and Jade Jossen teach Music Together an ocean apart, but this past fall, their lives intertwined in a most rewarding way. They switched professional lives!

NYC-Italy

For one week, Terri left her classes at Eastside Westside Music Together in New York City to teach the Fiddle Song Collection at Associazione Culturale Music Together in Bologna, Italy, where Jade runs her center with co-director Giovanni Azzoni. During this time, Jade came to New York City and took over Terri's classes for the week.

The Coyle Family

Rebecca Coyle and her three-month-old son Brady loved their Music Together class in Hopewell, New Jersey. In fact, they loved it so much that when the family relocated to Zurich, Switzerland, in 2008, Rebecca was delighted to discover a Music Together center there, too.

Music Together at Home

How many times do you think you've sung the "Hello Song"? Families from our home base in Princeton and all across the Americas to Bologna, Tokyo, Beijing, and Istanbul, greet each other with this catchy tune at the start of every Music Together class, and many also include the song as part of their own daily routines.

In the spirit of the international flavor of Music Together, here's how to say "Hello, everybody, so glad to see you!" in just a few of the many languages spoken by Music Together families (spelled out phonetically, as needed).

Have fun trying a few with your own children. If you know the translation in another language, please share it on Music Together's Facebook Page.
