Making a Difference in our Community

(Excerpted from original article, published by the Chicago Chesed Fund)

FYHS Students Volunteer for Chicago Chesed Fund It may not be spring time, but in homes throughout the city and suburbs, families were cleaning and organizing in the days leading up to Labor Day - and the Chicago Chesed Fund's first annual Back-to-School Clothing Drive.

On Sun., Sept. 2, volunteer drivers, along with 20 students from Fasman Yeshiva High School, made donation pickups in neighborhoods throughout Chicago, as well as neighboring suburbs of Buffalo Grove, Deerfield, Highland Park, and Morton Grove.

The students spent nearly six hours, in unseasonably warm temperatures, lugging bags and boxes of all sizes and shapes.

Dear Parents, Alumni and Friends,

Hebrew Theological College is proud to share a number of recent accomplishments.  We look forward to sharing more exciting news in the months to come.

Inaugural Midwest Holocaust Symposium
Faith after Fury

Faith after Fury The Blitstein Institute of Hebrew Theological College, in conjunction with the Associated Talmud Torahs of Chicago, held a powerful day-long Holocaust Symposium on Tuesday, June 26th, 2012 at the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center. This ground breaking symposium, initiated at the behest of the Tessler family, was entitled "Faith after Fury" and attracted a standing room only crowd from all segments of the Chicago Jewish community. Participants were overwhelmed with emotion and inspiration, evoked by many of Chicago's finest Rabbinic leaders as well as our dynamic keynote speakers, Rabbi Nosson Sherman and Rabbi Mordechai Neugroschel. Special thanks to Mr. Rudolph Tessler, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hartman, and Dr. and Mrs. Yosef Walder for their generous sponsorship of this vitally important event.
