Road deaths related to speeding vehicles are far too commonplace in America. 2011 saw 9,944 traffic deaths - 615 in Pennsylvania  (National Highway Administration).

Now PenTrans has assembled a panel of experts to discuss speed cameras - new technology that is being used nationally and internationally to enforce speed laws. Speed cameras currently are  illegal in Pennsylvania, but legislation is pending to permit their usage in Philadelphia.
