Emerging Leaders Give Back!
ELC Gives Back Program represents an effort by young professionals to support TRCC non-profits as they invest in our local community. Through this endeavor, the ELC will partner with local non-profits to raise awareness of their organizations and collect urgently needed items on their behalf.
ELC will provide donation containers to interested member organizations to facilitate item collection. These containers will be displayed at each member site in a visible location for employees, customers, and clients to contribute items. On a quarterly, rotating basis, the drive will collect items needed by member non-profits.
The theme for the first drive is "Share the Warmth". The program will be spotlighted on December 11th at BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The ELC is partnering with the Assistance League of NOVA to gather new or gently used coats, hats, scarves, gloves and mittens for children and adults. Please register for the event on the TRCC website. BONUS: Bring a garment to donate and BJ's will give you a free dessert card.
Please contact the Chamber office, 703-281-1333 to request a donation container to collect the items in need for the Assistance League of NOVA. Most importantly, being a sponsor will provide you with an overwhelming amount of recognition within the local community.

TECH CORNER: Nine Strategies to Make Technology Work for Your Business, Not Against It
Technology is often heralded as the be-all, end-all of our existence. Upgraded smartphone models come out every few months. Fresh apps pop up every week. New methods of doing business - in the cloud, with Big Data, or on mobile point of sale systems - overtake old ones on a daily basis. Keeping up can seem impossible, especially for a small to medium-sized business owner stretched in a thousand different directions.
Yet there's no denying that technology drives progress - and that progress can make your business thrive. Ever try to do your job or grow your business without a PC, a laptop, an Internet connection, an email account, or a cell phone? Not in the last decade. But at some point in time, everybody thought, "These are just fads."
That's why it's critical to know how to make the current trends in technology work for your business instead of against it. Here are some strategies to put you on a path to productivity and prosperity. Read more.

Giving Thanks...
This is the perfect time to give thanks to all of our member businesses for their support this year. There have been network nights, job fairs, educational events, mentoring of our youth, even petitions to avoid a referendum of a meals tax and much more.
Here at the Chamber, our strategic pillars and foundation include: Education, Community, Networking and Collaboration. At the foundation of these is YOU - our members. We can't do it without you -- thank you!
In the next few weeks, we will begin two new programs which I invite you to participate in. Beginning in December, we launch the Emerging Leaders Gives Back program. I hope you read the article at the top of the newsletter because it is that important. We are very blessed and fortunate for all that we have, so let's pay it forward and give back. Please give serious consideration to putting a collection box in your business to collect hats, gloves, mittens, scarves and coats for our "Share the Warmth" drive. We will deliver the boxes and collect them at the end of the drive!
The second way to get involved is to participate in our Community Video program. This is a great opportunity to showcase your business and welcome people to our community.
As always, if there is anything the Chamber can do for you, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Warm regards,
Mark S. Rogoff
Chairman of the Board
Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce
