Board Presentations, Reports & Actions
Facilities Master Plan Adoption
The Burlingame School District Board of Trustees approved the District's Facilities Master Plan after receiving 141 staff survey responses, and meeting with and talking to over 350 community members. For all public school districts, a Facilities Master Plan serves as documentation and verification of facility conditions and needs, which then helps to identify priorities that can be addressed once subsequent funds become available.
General Obligation Bond 2016
The Board approved a resolution in support of placing a General Obligation Bond Measure on the November 8, 2016 ballot. The Board is exploring a future bond measure based upon identified facility modernization and growth needs and technology updates. Over the past year, Board Meetings have included discussions on various aspects of supporting a bond measure including: The development of a Facilities Master Plan (FMP), an Assessment of Facilities needs based on the FMP in June 2016, a Business/Finance and Enrollment update in March and May 2016, A Bond Survey Authorization in January with results discussed at a public Board Meeting in March 2016, and a Review of Bond Finance options in June 2016. During the Facilities Master Plan process, staff, students and community members were invited to provide input on the draft project list. The Final Bond Project List reflects all of this input and will be used to form the Final Bond Resolution being recommended for approval with regard to both total bond authorization and scope of bond.
Developer Fee Study and Developer Fee Rate Increase
The Board held a public hearing on the Developer Fee Study to receive input from the public on the adoption of a Developer Fee Study for the District and increase to the school facility fee on new residential and commercial/industrial developments.
