Saying YES!

WorldView staff trained six new mission appointees in Panama recently. Let Mark Hedinger tell you the story of Suzy, one of the people we trained.

Suzy (not her real name) is a professional educator who has walked with the Lord for years. Her South American church home teaches and practices missions as a normal part of Christian life. Some of those church leaders asked Suzy if she might consider joining a mission team from South America to the Middle East.

Suzy told me her reaction - "scared to death!" She knows the Lord and wants to see the Gospel enter every town and nation and language. "But Lord. . . . . ME? I have no idea how to serve You in that unfamiliar place, among people that I do not understand."

The church asked her to try a short visit, and take WorldView's training before going. Suzy said yes, she would go for a few weeks, and yes, she would take the WorldView training first.

So what did God do when Suzy said, "yes"?

First of all, He moved Suzy's bosses to reject her job resignation, but to hold her position while she went to serve Him (something she hadn't even asked them to do!)

Through WorldView Training, she learned how to begin to understand an unfamiliar culture. Suzy's fears fell away. "Now I know what to do when I get there!"  she told me at the end of WorldView's training.

As the culture training sessions ended, Suzy met with her church and mission leadership. They asked if she would go to the Middle East for more than just a few weeks. You can guess her answer - "Yes! I know what to do!"

News of the Sale!

So close, and yet so far away!
That is a great description of the sale of the WorldView Center building!

So how close are we?
If all works according to plan, we should complete the sale as early as May.

If all works according to plan, we should be moving into new spaces as early as June.

So close!
But there are some barriers that make it also very possible that this gets extended - what makes it "so far away?"

We have three sets of repairs to the building that are underway, and they all need to be complete before the sale can close. Please pray that the repairs will end on schedule and that we'll be able to close our sale as planned.

We also still seek new homes for Sanctuary Inn and WorldView Training. Please pray that as our time at WorldView Center draws to a close, God would guide both ministries to exactly the locations He has in mind.

Many thanks! We'll keep you posted!

Prayer and Praise!

Lots Going on for Praise and Prayer!

The "How do I begin?" question birthed the "Tools for Beginning Language Learners" seminar.  Trainers Carol Lewis and Karen Hedinger lead missionary appointees in how to learn the language of the people they desire to reach with the Gospel.

Praise God for all He did in January, enabling Karen and Carol to equip missionary appointees in Panama.
---Six trainees eagerly interacted with the language learning concepts.
---Trainees engaged with the local Kuna tribal people, building lasting relationships.

Pray for the next seminar at WorldView in Portland, March 6-18---
--Adult learners will work hard and embrace tools for learning languages in Thailand, Cambodia and Western Asia.
--Portland area language helpers will eagerly help the learning.
--New children's program launch well with the kids preparing to learn new languages with their parents.
--Travel mercies, health and safety for participants, WorldView staff and volunteers.

Want to pray more specifically?  Contact Joan Burdick ([email protected]) for particular prayer needs for each family in training.

Gather around these families in prayer and then lunch at WorldView Thursday, March 17, 11:00 am.

Ministry Updates!

A tale of two ministries...

Watch your mail box in May for updates from both WorldView and Sanctuary Inn.

Did You Know ?

Mark is now in Cuba leading seminars at Seminario " Cedros de Libano" in Pinar del Rio, Cuba.

The Seminario Cedros de Libano (Cedars of Lebanon Seminary) graduated it's first class of Master's Degrees students in April of 2015. It is exciting to know that the evangelical church in Cuba is thriving.

Great Teamwork!

Recently, a big Office Depot order totaled about $80, but we only paid $7. Why?  Because we all pooled our rewards points and earned more points by recycling our ink cartridges. Thanks for being a great team!
