Planned Approach To Community Health (PATCH) 
The Glades PATCH is a program designed to help the community evaluate, plan and implement health education and disease prevention and intervention programs. PATCH helps promote the health of the community to include social, emotional and physical well-being of its citizens. PATCH is a partnership of concerned citizens and organizations. This partnership provides a forum for identifying health problems affecting the community and mobilizing the community to plan, conduct and evaluate intervention services.

Fair Housing Workshop in Haitian Creole
FAIR HOUSING RIGHTS - participants will learn their rights under the Federal, State, and local Fair Housing laws, including: how to ask for a reasonable accommodation; how to request a reasonable modification; what landlords and agencies can and cannot ask when interviewing prospective tenants; what agencies and resources are available to victims of discrimination; and how to avoid and recognize housing discrimination. The purpose of these workshops is to reduce the incidence of housing discrimination in affordable rental units.

Volunteer Orientation: 6 Week Cooking Matters Nutrition Education Program
The Glades Initiative, Inc. implements the 6 week Cooking Matters Nutrition Education program at host agencies for low-income participants teaching them how to prepare healthy meals on a limited budget. The mission of the program is to empower families at risk of hunger with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to make healthy and affordable meals.
Classes are taught by volunteer instructors. Volunteer time commitment for each course is three hours per week for six weeks.
Volunteers are needed to fill the following roles:
- Culinary Educators: Culinary experience preferred, but not required
 - Nutrition Educators: Nutritionists preferred, but not required.
- Class Assistants: To assist with class preparation, set-up, and clean-up

Broadway Musical: Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
 "Goin' courting" has never been as much fun as in this rip-roaring stage version of the popular MGM movie. Set in Oregon in 1850, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers tells the story of Millie, a young bride living in the 1850s Oregon wilderness. Her plan to civilize and marry off her six rowdy brothers-in-law to ensure the success of her own marriage backfires when the brothers, in their enthusiasm, kidnap six women from a neighboring town to be their brides.
Bursting with the rambunctious energy of the original film, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is all boisterous fun and romance that harkens back to the glory days of the movie musical. Tickets for the show are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and $10 for students, children and PBSC faculty & staff.

Apply now for the PBC Food Bank Summer Weekend Nutrition Program
The summer months leave many children and their families particularly vulnerable to insufficient nutrition. During the 2014 summer, the Food Bank provided nutritious food to more than 1,700 children at 19 summer camps in Palm Beach County. Each child, who participated in the Weekend Nutrition Program in 2014, was provided a sack pack full of healthy food to take home for their family to enjoy every Friday afternoon. In 2015, the Food Bank will expand the program to additional sites and will be using more durable backpacks.

A FREE Outdoor Concert: A Real Santana Experience
 A Real Santana Experience...it doesn't get any better than Galo's Tribute to Santana. Latin Rock is Galo's forte and being a part of his Tribute to Santana band is not an easy task. In addition to playing a tribute concert note by note and looking like the artist, the musicians also have to be able to capture the live experience of the concert, like the real artist does. This band rocks...you'll feel like you're at a Santana concert! This free concert will be presented at the Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center on Local vendors will be selling yummy BBQ dinners and other items beginning at 6 pm. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and enjoy! No alcohol or coolers are permitted. Free Group program at The Glades Initiative, Inc. Quit Smoking Now is a six-session group program to help you quit tobacco! The program was developed by ex-smokers for those who want to become ex-smokers themselves, and it also includes help for other forms of tobacco such as cigars, dip, chew, etc. The program offers free nicotine patches, lozenges, and/or gum (while supplies last), as well as follow-up support.

The Pillowcase Project

Glades Interagency Network (GIN) Recognizing Efforts of People in the Community
The Glades Interagency Network is hosting its Annual Glades Community Awards Recognition Luncheon. The luncheon will recognize individuals that give of themselves to assist their community without necessarily being compensated for their efforts. Glades-area businesses, organizations and individuals have an opportunity to recognize up to two people by completing an Honoree Form. The cost of each Honoree's Plaque is $25. In support of your honoree, we request the presence of a representative from your organization attend this event. Space is limited. Honoree Overviews and photos must be received no later than Tuesday, March 24, 2015.

Gove Elementary School's Annual Career Week
Gove Elementary School's annual Career Week is on the horizon. We hope that you will volunteer to share your professional experiences with our students to make this week truly rewarding.
We are looking for community members to volunteer to speak about their profession at Gove. You will be asked to give a short 20 minute presentation about your job, education, training, and how you made the transition from school to your current occupation. You will be giving the same presentation approximately three times to three different groups of students.

The YWCA of Palm Beach County is seeking nominations for both its Racial Justice and Youth Racial Justice Awards. Nominees for the Racial Justice Award may be an individual, civic organization, religious institution, or business that has demonstrated leadership in organizing or supporting activities that reduce and/or prevent racial injustice in Palm Beach County. The Youth Racial Justice Award nominee may be a youth or youth group that exemplifies the same criteria listed above. The deadline for submitting nominations is 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015.

Practical aspect of Sickle Pain with emerging medical treatment and integrative promising therapies to treat Sickle pain symposium will provide an interactive and informative platform for patients, advocates, and healthcare providers and scientists to understand sickle pain.
