Play Therapy 101: A Client Centered Approach

The Center for Child Counseling is very pleased to be partnering with Women in Distress' Jim and Jan Moran Family Center to offer Play Therapy 101: A Client Centered Approach. This workshop is an excellent introduction to Play Therapy for students, interns, school counselors, and mental health professionals who work with children and would like to start using Play Therapy techniques . Building therapeutic relationships with children requires different skills than those generally used in working with adults.  The purpose of this workshop is to provide participants with a basic introduction to the principles and techniques used in Client Centered Play Therapy.  Non-directive Play Therapy is a developmentally appropriate model, supported by research, for counseling children ages 3 to 13 who are experiencing a wide variety of presenting issues. The workshop will involve experiential activities in which the participant will learn and practice the basic techniques used in Client Centered Play Therapy.

WHEN: Friday May 2, 2014 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

WHERE: Women in Distress' Jim & Jan Moran Family Center, 4700 NW 3rd Ave., Deerfield Beach
