Presidents & Their First Ladies, Dramatically Speaking
Not only was Woodrow Wilson a scholar, professor, writer, and Nobel Peace Prize-winner, but he was a man who loved his family deeply.
His wife of 30 years, Ellen Louise Axson, inspired him through his career in education and helped him to become the 28th president of the United States. Her untimely death during his first term almost caused him to resign. Yet, he found another helpmate in Edith Bolling Galt, who guided him through a second term as president where he faced severe illness and the ravages of the Great War. The story of Woodrow's time in the White House with his first wife Ellen and then with his second wife Edith is brought to life by the veteran acting and writing team of husband and wife William and Sue Wills. Their engaging performance is a "mustsee" for history bus, students, and anyone interested in
human-interest stories.

WHEN: Saturday, January 18, 2014 11:00 a.m.  -1:00 p.m.

2014 Giraffe Awards - Call for Nominations

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2014 Giraffe Award, given by the Women's Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County. The Giraffe Award will be presented in March of 2014 during Women's History Month. These awards are given annually to honor women who have "Stuck Their Necks Out" by taking risks, applying initiative, dedication and perseverance, thereby making a difference for other women in the workplace and in the community.  Our goal is to gather nominations for the most qualified women in Palm Beach County.  As a recipient of this letter, you have a unique vantage point from which to identify and recommend these extraordinary women. If you know an outstanding woman whom you would like to see recognized for her leadership, please submit her name for nomination by completing the attached form.

Please think of all the women in your network and consider whom you would like to nominate. Please don't feel you have to stop at one nomination! We'll gladly accept all you submit for consideration. Nominations must be received no later than Wednesday, January 22, 2013 to the Women's Chamber of Commerce office listed on the form. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you might have. Thank you in advance for your help in identifying and honoring outstanding women in our community.
