Do You Have a Cybersecurity Plan?
Cyberattacks not only threaten national security, they can also cost organizations millions of dollars in damages through the loss of sensitive information. A  2011 study by Symantec/NCSA found that "cyber attacks cost small and medium-size businesses an average of $188,242, and almost two-thirds of victimized companies are forced out of business within six months of being attacked." A 2012 survey of American small businesses conducted by Symantec found that 83 percent lack a formal cybersecurity plan. Most hackers target those organizations that do little to protect their data. A well-enforced security plan can significantly reduce the risk of a cyberattack.
