Fine Art Show April 15-23
A diverse exhibition of 2D & 3D art

The centerpiece for our Art in Bloom events is the 3rd annual Fine Art Exhibition.  It includes 30 regional artists who work in painting, photography, sculpture, wood, glass and mixed media. The show opens on Friday, April 15th at 6 pm.  It's a free event that includes wine, nibbles and an opportunity to meet the artists.   We hope that you will join this "first" of our exciting lineup of April events at the Depot Art Center in Anacortes. The show continues daily April 16 - 23, from 11 - 4pm.  Proceeds from from art sales support cultural education for Anacortes school children.  
Art of Shopping April 17
A new event for girlfriends  

This fun event is your opportunity to spend a leisurely Sunday enjoying shopping for things that appeal to women (and some men) - jewelry, accessories, wearables, unique art objects.   Sip on a champaign mimosa, join hourly raffles, enjoy unique food truck nibbles - purchase local tulips to take home. Mannequins will highlight current fashions from some of our downtown merchants and bling will be interspursed throughout.  The Art of Shopping officially starts at 11am, but for $10 you can come an hour early and get the first opportunity to shop, enjoy a free mimosa & raffle ticket.   You can purchase your "early birdie" ticket online ahead. 
Do the Bloom Color Run April 23
Become the Art

Forget what Mom said about not getting messy!  Our 2nd annual Color Run on Saturday, April 23 is all about becoming a living canvas.   Runners will be liberally doused with a rainbow of colored powder throughout the run.   This is a 5k fun run, with a shorter course for kids under 12.  Runners get a t-shirt, wrist band and refreshments at the end - as well as prizes for top finishers.  Bring your friends, family, friendly dogs - and expect a "brilliantly" good time! 
Be a Color Run Helper

We still need a few volunteers for the Color Run on Saturday, April 23rd.   Jobs include throwing color, helping with production, traffic control, course support and registration.  It's a fun way to participate even if you're not a runner.   Please join us. Remember the success of the day supports public art projects!

Did you know that the Festival has a Collectors Club?   For $100 a year, our Collectors get a private docent tour at a pre-opening event and 10% off purchases at all of our fine art shows.  We also offer studio or art venue visits and educational opportunities during the year.  You must join prior to the event to receive the discount. We are working on building an awareness of ALL of the art happenings in our community. A Wine Festival, Home & Boat Tour, Quilt Show, ACT Theater production, and Vintage Market are among the April cultural opportunities.   Don't forget, every month includes a First Friday Gallery walk.
