We will be raffling off 4 Gold Nuggets from the Lucky Dog mine in Eastern Nevada. Everyone will have a chance to win them and the winner must be present or we will draw a new number.
Sylvia will be here with her exceptional Sterling Silver. Find matching pieces for your set or buy a new service.
Nancy will be here with more of her beautiful Fused Glass jewelry.
Richard will be back with a booth full of nice vintage toys.
There are just to many dealers to list so please take a look at the list on the website:
A great resource to find out about local craft shows is the Reno Crafters website.
You can find it here:
Please spread the word through your Facebook pages and any other social media you use.
You can share the Craigslist event on your timeline!
Please place a Craigslist ad for some of your items and say they will be at the Tanners Marketplace show and list the address and times.
Please also
print out some of the fliers
listed below and place them in your local neighborhoods and at your workplaces. Many grocery stores have bulletin boards where you can place them. I also have some signs like the ones I place at the freeway exits available if you have a place to put them.
Anything you can think of that will help get the word out about the show will help. Lets try and make this a viral thing so everyone knows that the Tanners Marketplace show is this upcoming weekend!
The Facebook Page is up and waiting for visitors!
The most current info and pictures will be there. Please click the Like link so you get notifications when we post updates. It also helps our ratings and to spread the word about the shows.

Places to Stay:
A few people have asked if there are places to stay close to the events center. The Events Center has RV spaces available (see the bottom of the show application page) and there are several motels close by and the casinos are close too. Kayak.com lists some close by ones. You can narrow the search in the location box:
A friend of mine stays at the SandsRegency Hotel Casino when he visits. They usually have some good deals going. I did a quick check and found their deals page:
Once he visited the first time they keep sending him free nights tickets.
Motel 6 is about a block away:
Days Inn is just a little further:
Americas Best Travel Inn is right at the freeway exit too:
There is a 24 hour Denny's and a Carrows restaurant very close. (walking dist. from motels, right at the freeway exit)

Let's make this a fun forum to keep interest and excitement up for the shows!

Dan and Paula Clements

The History of Nevada Day
Nevada became a state (admitted to the Union) October 31, 1864, so Nevada Day has been October 31st of each year. However, with the passage of AB396 by the 1997 Nevada State Legislature, Nevada voters, on November 3, 1998 advised the 1999 legislature they wanted to celebrate Nevada Day on the "last" Friday in October beginning in 2000. The legislature, after much heated debate, complied.
Nevada Day is presently a state holiday recognized on the last Friday in October with the parade on the Saturday following.
This year Nevada Day will be observed Friday, October 25, 2013 and the Nevada Day Parade will be held Saturday, October 26, starting promptly at 10:00am rain or shine!
Nevadans love a parade and what better way to celebrate our heritage! Each October, Nevadans turn their attention to Carson City, Nevada's state capital, home of the Nevada Day Parade.
The theme for our 2013 parade is "Nevada Day Parade celebrates 75 years - 1938 to 2013". This is our annual coming together to celebrate our heritage and the founding of our great state!

Catalina Island Pottery
Catalina Pottery (or Catalina Island Pottery ) is the commonly used name for Catalina Clay Products , a division of the Santa Catalina Island Company, which produced brick, tile, tableware and decorative pottery on Santa Catalina Island, California.
Catalina Clay Products was founded in 1927 when William Wrigley, Jr. built a tile and brick pottery on a beach located near Avalon, Santa Catalina Island. The new pottery became Catalina Clay Products, a division of Wrigley's Santa Catalina Island Company.
In 1930, Wrigley brought artisans to the Island to design decorative and functional pottery products including souvenirs, vases, bookends and figurines. Red clays found on the Island were used for pottery until 1931. After 1931 white clay from the United States mainland was combined with the red clay until finally only white clay was used. Glazes were made with local minerals mined on the Island. The company sold its ware as Catalina Pottery and Catalina Tile. The pottery opened free standing stores to sell their wares in Avalon, Santa Catalina Island, Hollywood, Olvera Street in Los Angeles, and in the Arizona Biltmore Hotel, Phoenix. Dinnerware and art ware was sold through department and jewelry stores. Tile products were used throughout the United States. The Arizona Biltmore Hotel's swimming pool was built using Catalina tile.
In 1937, Catalina Clay Products, including all equipment, stock, molds, and trademarks, were sold to Gladding, McBean & Co. The pottery on the Island was closed. All molds and equipment were moved to Gladding, McBean & Co.'s Glendale plant in Los Angeles. Gladding, McBean continued to produce Catalina art ware and dinnerware shapes for their Catalina Pottery art ware lines until 1942. Gladding, McBean & Co.'s Catalina Pottery art ware was marked Catalina Pottery, made in USA, with an ink stamp. All tile products were discontinued.
Max Weil of California, formerly The California Figurine Co. purchased the Catalina art ware molds and patterns from Gladding McBean and Co., however Gladding, McBean & Co. retained the trade name Catalina. In 1947, Gladding, McBean & Co. returned the use of the trademark to the Santa Catalina Island Company.
