Help Spread The Word!

If you would like to help advertise the show we have created a flier with tear off tabs that you can print out and post on local bulletin boards or at your office. Many grocery stores etc. have places to post local events and every little bit helps get the word out. The more people that come the better everyone's sales will be!

Please post a Craigslist Ad and put the Facebook link and webpage address in it.

It also helps to place ad's with photo's of some of the items you will have for sale at the show.  The more key words we get out there the more people will see the ads.

If it doesn't print in color you may have to save it locally and open it in adobe Reader.

We are open to any ideas that you have to let more collectors know about the show and get attendance up. On that note please click the Forward to a Friend link above and let anyone you think might be interested know about us.
Places to Stay:
A few people have asked if there are places to stay close to the events center.  The Events Center has RV spaces available (see the bottom of the show application page) and  there are several motels close by and the casinos are close too. Kayak.com lists some close by ones. You can narrow the search in the location box.:
A friend of mine stays at the SandsRegency Hotel Casino when he visits. They usually have some good deals going. I did a quick check and found their deals page:
Once he visited the first time they keep sending him free nights tickets.
Motel 6 is about a block away:
Days Inn is just a little further:
Americas Best Travel Inn is right at the freeway exit too:
There is a 24 hour Denny's and a Carrows restaurant very close. (walking dist. from motels, right at the freeway exit)
Let's make this a fun forum to keep interest and excitement up for the shows!

Sincerely,

How Nevada Got Its Name, and a little history:

The name Nevada is derived from the nearby Sierra Nevada, which means "snow-capped range" in Spanish. The land comprising the modern state was inhabited by Native Americans of the Paiute, Shoshone, and Washoe tribes prior to European contact. It was subsequently claimed by Spain as a part of Alta California until the Mexican War of Independence brought it under Mexican control. The United States gained the territory in 1848 following its victory in the Mexican-American War and the area was eventually incorporated as part of Utah Territory in 1850.

The discovery of silver at the Comstock Lode in 1859 led to a population boom that was an impetus to the creation of Nevada Territory out of western Utah Territory in 1861. Nevada became the 36th state on October 31, 1864, as the second of two states added to the Union during the Civil War (the first being West Virginia).

Nevada is the fourth largest producer of gold in the world.

Just What Is Neodymium Glass?
Neodymium glass is glass which looks blue in fluorescent light and pink under incandescent light.  In sunlight you can see flashes of both colors.     The dichroic, (which means having or showing two colors), characteristic of neodymium glass is attributable to the use of neodymium oxide (Nd2O3) in the glass batch.  It was made by many different glass companies under as many different names, Alexandrite, Wisteria,
Twilight, Dawn,
Heatherbloom and others.
This is a Beautiful and scarce color that can be a lot of fun to collect.  Below are photos of the same art glass bowl under different lights.  You can see some in person at my booth in the Somewhere In Time Mall.  I'm there Mondays, Dan
