It's Saturday Night and here is a quick update!

The April show is in full swing!  The weather is beautiful and this is a great opportunity to get out and do something fun!

We have some new vendors with even more interesting finds! Rob has a large selection of actual Nevada Placer Gold Nuggets! Jim has a beautiful hand crafted large weaving loom, It's late and I just don't have time to list all the wonderful things. Please check out the photos by clicking the link above and see for yourself.

We also have some very creative crafters and photos of their work is also on the page. Please also check out the facebook page at the link below for even more information.

Come in Sunday (even if you came Saturday) since it's very easy to miss "Just the Perfect Present for Aunt Peg"  :-)

The show is at the Livestock Events Center on the Fairgrounds at 1350 N. Wells Ave.  Take the Wells Ave. exit from I-80 and go North a few blocks.  Watch for the signs and flags. Open 9 to 5 Saturday and 9 to 3 on Sunday.

The Facebook Page is up and waiting for visitors!

I posted over a hundred new photo's on Facebook tonight. The most current info and pictures are there.  Please click the Like link so you get notifications when we post updates.  It also helps our ratings and to spread the word about the shows.

The TV show "The Old House Antique Showcase" filmed several episodes on this morning and everyone had a fun time showing off their treasures.  It's a new local show that will feature people and businesses related to the antiques, collectibles and crafting scene in the Reno area.

The program will air every Sunday at 7:00 A.M. and Friday at 1:00 P.M. on the CW Network, channel 6 on Charter and ATT and channel 46 on Dish and Direct TV.

If you are thinking about being a vendor at the show and have questions please look at the website and give me a call or send me an email.

If you get 2 newsletter emails then you may be on both the vendor list and the general list.

Help Spread The Word!

If you would like to help advertise the show we have created a flier with tear off tabs that you can print out and post on local bulletin boards or at your office. Many grocery stores etc. have places to post local events and every little bit helps get the word out. The more people that come the better everyone's sales will be!

Please post a Craigslist Ad and put the Facebook link and webpage address in it.

It also helps to place ad's with photo's of some of the items you will have for sale at the show.  The more key words we get out there the more people will see the ads.

Click Here for a Printable PDF file of a flier to post on local bulletin boards

If it doesn't print in color you may have to save it locally and open it in adobe Reader.

Click Here for a Printable PDF file of a flier to hand out for the April Show It includes a discount.

Click Here for a Printable PDF file of a flier to hand out for the Legends Show in May  There are 3 fliers on each page.

We are open to any ideas that you have to let more collectors know about the show and get attendance up. On that note please click the Forward to a Friend link above and let anyone you think might be interested know about us.
Places to Stay:
A few people have asked if there are places to stay close to the events center.  The Events Center has RV spaces available (see the bottom of the show application page) and  there are several motels close by and the casinos are close too. Kayak.com lists some close by ones. You can narrow the search in the location box.:
A friend of mine stays at the SandsRegency Hotel Casino when he visits. They usually have some good deals going. I did a quick check and found their deals page:
Once he visited the first time they keep sending him free nights tickets.
Motel 6 is about a block away:
Days Inn is just a little further:
Americas Best Travel Inn is right at the freeway exit too:
There is a 24 hour Denny's and a Carrows restaurant very close. (walking dist. from motels, right at the freeway exit)
Let's make this a fun forum to keep interest and excitement up for the shows!

Sincerely,

Nevada State
Reptile: Desert Tortoise

Nevada designated the desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) as the official state reptile in 1989. Found in the extreme southwest of Nevada, the desert tortoise is the largest reptile in the southwest and can live more than 70 years.

The desert tortoise is listed as threatened. The population has decreased by as much as 90 percent in some areas since the 1980s due to vandalism, predation, disease, and collection for pets (now illegal). Habitat loss from mining, livestock grazing, off-road vehicles, and development are also major factors threatening this ancient animal.

If you want to help save them contact: Reno Tur-Toise Club
