Understanding Personality Buying Styles and Recognizing Body Language

Course DescriptionThe main objective class is to provide designers with the basic tools to recognize and understand the four buying personalities as well as determine a client's body language to effectively communicate in a selling presentation. We will also present the traits that drive your client's decision-making process. We will address these important questions:

  • Could you be failing to convert prospects because you have a singular approach to selling?
  • Do you know how to adjust your sales presentation techniques to match your customer's different buying styles?
  • Can you recognize the signals to successfully monitor your client's communication style and body language?
  • Have you reviewed how and what to customize in your presentation for each specific buying personality?
  • Do you know what small nonverbal changes you should implement that will make a big difference in how people rate to you?

Communicating effectively will result in sales growth, an enhanced experience, a memorable experience, and an easier experience for both the designer AND their clients. In addition, we'll explore the meaning of what clients won't tell you, but reveal in their body language, and we'll review how you can change other people's perceptions simply by changing your body position.

July 23rd: "10 Steps to Ensuring Those Beautiful Custom Homes are also Comfortable, Long Lasting and Efficient" presented by Lois Arena, SWA, hosted at Bilotta Kitchens Showroom, Mamaroneck, NY


August 11th: "Efficient Lighting Design for Cost, Safety and Performance Solutions" presented by Laurel Christensen, Big Ass Solutions, hosted at The Food bank For Westchester Warehouse, Elmsford, NY (Please note: this session will begin at NOON)


Our 5th session will be "Designing with Building Integrated Photovoltaics" presented by Mark Paille, Dow Powerhouse Solar Shingles.  Because this particular session will  also include an actual installation demonstration at our Mamaroneck Self Storage facility, as well as a demonstration of the building's Daikin air-source heat pump system, the date and time for this presentation will be announced at a later time.
