Murphy Brothers Contracting Hosts Houzz Party

Planning your next project and need help finding great design ideas? Murphy Brothers is delighted to partner with Gibbons Digital to host a series of presentations in September featuring Houzz.com. Houzz.com is THE hottest website preferred by homeowners searching out ideas for their next renovation and remodeling project.

"Houzz Party" on September 11th, at Westchester Magazine's HQ in Rye, will help area homeowners navigate the Houzz website for great project ideas. And, there will be (4) other unique sessions at various area locations specific to the needs of industry professionals. "Technology for Storytelling: How to reach new clients and engage a global community" will show architects, interior designers and others how to harness Houzz and its integrated technologies to improve their business efficiency, reach new prospective clients and streamline communications.

Michael Stein, a member of the Community Team at Houzz, an innovative residential remodeling and design platform and community will facilitate each session. Our Sponsorship partners for these terrific educational and fun events are Andersen Windows, Interstate + Lakeland Lumber, Klaffs, Benjamin Moore, Aitoro's Appliances, Soundworks Inc., and Westchester Home magazine. All proceeds from the events will benefit the Food Bank for Westchester.

Three Things You Should Know...

...About Houzz.com

  1. Houzz co-founders Adi Tatarko and Alon Cohen launched the site in February, 2009 as a result of their own remodeling project. Tired of cutting pages out of magazines for their inspiration file, they created an online photo database for people in the process of building, remodeling and decorating.
  2. As of July 2014, the Houzz database contains more than 3.5 million photos of residential interior, exterior and landscape photos. Homeowners browse photos by room, style and location, and bookmark photos in personal collections the site calls "ideabooks."  Over 23+ million users have simply clicked on an image to learn more about the architect, designer, or contractor, ask a question, and learn about products tagged in the photos.
  3. The Houzz.com app is one of the few nongame apps on iOS that have a 5 star rating, according to The Wall Street Journal. There are 17+ Million mobile app installs.

Murphy Brothers Contracting believes that building green is simply building smart.  We are proud to be an Energy Star Partner.  The EPA's ENERGY STAR program helps consumers, businesses, and public organizations protect the environment through superior energy efficiency. ENERGY STAR for Homes promotes energy-efficient homes that can improve home quality and homeowner comfort, lower energy demand, and reduce air pollution. ENERGY STAR qualified homes are third-party verified to be significantly more energy efficient than homes built to code. Savings are typically achieved through a combination of envelope upgrades, high performance windows, controlled air infiltration, upgraded heating and air conditioning systems, tight duct systems, upgraded water-heating equipment, and efficient lighting and appliances.
