'Cats Career Summit
Sophomores and Juniors are invited to participate in this half-day career exploration conference. Students can choose from two tracks to follow for the day: Career Exploration or Research & Internship Search Readiness. Attendees will be introduced to topics such as self-assessments, majors & careers, personal branding, and networking. Alumni and Employers will also join us to discuss what potential employers are looking for and how to make yourself stand out. Lunch and refreshments will be provided and there is no fee to attend. CABE STUDENT VIDEO AWARDS ON CAREERS IN PSYCHOLOGY
In 2016, the APA Committee on Associate and Baccalaureate Education (CABE) will give two awards to undergraduate students who produce the best interview videos of someone working in a psychology-related field. The mission of OSSI is to diversify the pipeline for graduate education in Organizational Science. Ideal OSSI Fellows are sophomore/junior level in college, interested in studying organizations, planning to attend graduate school in an Org Science-related field, and are members of an underrepresented ethnic and/or racial student population (e.g., Latino, African-American, Native American). Grant Thomas, class of 2013, attended the OSSI as a rising senior and loved it.

Preparing & Applying for Grad School in Psychology

This series of 12 videos takes prospective graduate students step-by-step through the preparation, application, interview and admission processes. The presenters combine decades of advising experience and research findings with evidence-based and anxiety-reducing strategies for mastering each step. Each video is 20-25 min and there is a link for supplemental handouts.

On This Day: 25 January
1906 - Molly Harrower was born. Harrower, a clinical researcher, developed the group Rorschach test, first described in her book Large Scale Rorschach Techniques: Personality Change and Development, as Measured by the Projective Techniques (1945, with Matilda Steiner).
1909 - The first White House Conference on Children began with an address by President Theodore Roosevelt. The focus of the conference was the welfare of children dependent on the state. White House Conferences have been held every 10 years since this first meeting.
1933 - Edwin G. Boring's book Physical Dimensions of Consciousness was published.
