Resiliency & Health Lab Update
Dr. Stutts '05 (Medical Humanities) reports:

My 8 summer students (2 from Davidson, 2 from Duke, 2 from Furman, and 2 from JCSU) successfully presented symposia presentations at The Duke Endowment Research Conference, which was an all-day event held on Thursday, July 23rd with over 50 attendees: The Duke Endowment staff and trustees, Dean of Students and student life practitioners from all 4 schools (present from Davidson: Dean Shandley, Dean Bray, Trish Murray, and Georgia Ringle), multiple researchers from each school (present from Davidson: Lauren Stutts and Cole Barton), and project staff.   The students' group and individual presentations were so scientific, professional, and engaging that one Duke faculty member jokingly suggested that they teach major researchers how to present at a national conference!

Grace Lee Simmons ('15, Honors, Workman Award Winner) was one of my lab managers over the summer and was a fantastic resource for my students. She has accepted a highly competitive research assistant position at UNC-Chapel Hill working with Dr. David Penn, a previous winner of the Beckman award (given only to 10 professors annually in the U.S. for mentorship). Join me in congratulating Grace Lee!

Congratulations to all, and thanks to Dr. Stutts for sharing!
