In a collaborative effort between ECGRA, Erie County government, The Erie Community Foundation, and Venango Training and Development Center (VTDC), 123 young peoples' lives were changed through employment this summer.

Starting in June, Erie young people age 16-21 received up to 20 hours of career readiness and soft skills training in preparation for job placement at one of our 32 partnering businesses and nonprofit organizations.

Partners included Gannon University, Perseus House Charter School of Excellence, and Franco's Café in Erie, the Erie County Department of Emergency Services in Summit, Union City Family Support Center, and Dynasty Construction Unlimited, Inc., in Corry.

Each youth participated in an approximately 6-week placement with their host employer working up to 30 hours per week and earning $7.25 per hour. Of the 123 students who participated, 117 (95%) completed the program successfully and 16 youths were employed by either their host or another local organization.
