Saturday Music in the Park
Zephyr Lightning Bolts Perform
This Saturday, August 3, one of the best well known bands around will be performing at Crouse Park. The Zephyr Lightning Bolts have won several awards at Fiddler's Conventions in surrounding areas as well as at Alleghany's own Fiddler's Convention. This Old Time music band consists of four members, Steve Bowen, his wife, Diane, their son, Jacob and family friend Sean Jarman. Steve started out playing guitar in a few blue grass bands until he fell in love with Ole Time music. Today he plays the bass and is also the lead vocalist for the band. Diane is a banjo player and helps Steve with the vocals. Jacob plays the fiddle and has won several awards for his talent. Over the years, the group has had several guitarists, but Sean has become a constant. Come out Saturday night at 6p to Crouse Park to hear this great band.
