Laughing Wren Studio
Lauren Marcilliat is a freelance graphic designer, fine artist, marketing professional, and the owner of Laughing Wren Studio. You may have seen some of her work around town advertising Alleghany Memorial Hospital or this year's Empty Bowls fundraiser for the Solid Rock Food Closet. To see more examples of what she can do, please check out her website, www.laughingwren.com. Prior to moving to the mountains in 2012 with her husband, Kevin, she lived in the Triangle and worked at Duke University Medical Center. Don't hold the Duke affiliation against her though - this Alabamian's favorite shade of blue is that of her alma mater, Auburn University.

Local church in the news

NY Times asks:
Has Mayberry peaked?
Any publicity is good publicity, the old adage says, and what better publicity than an article in the New York Times. But our neighbors to the west can't be too happy that American's newspaper is beginning to wonder if the town's obsession with its native son and his TV sitcom,
The Andy Griffith Show, isn't on its last legs. Check it out and form your own opinion.
