Come to listen or to dance to the blue grass and old time musicians who play on Tuesday beginning at 7p and Saturday at 7p and the first Friday of every month at 7p. Admission $4. The Jubilee is located on North Main Street, across from the Courthouse.

Local blue grass and old time musicians jam each Monday, 2 blocks north of the Courthouse at the Crouse House in Crouse Park, beginning at 6p. Come and play or just listen. No charge, but a donation is appreciated. 336-372-5473
GREAT ACTIVITIES TO DO ANYTIME
Barns and other structures throughout Alleghany County are adorned with normal squares illustrating quilt patterns and add interest to a driving tour of the countryside. Drop by Alleghany Chamber of Commerce and Visitors' Center for a brochure. We are in the rock building with the green awning (58 South Main Street, Sparta). Our foyer is always open and a brochure is always available.
Brochures for three driving loops of the Alleghany countryside are available at the Alleghany Chamber of Commerce and Visitors' Center. Each loop is about a leisurely hour's drive and includes information on historic points along the way. The Chamber office is in the rock building with the green awning (58 South Main Street, Sparta). Our foyer is always open and a brochure is always available.

Veterans' Morning Coffee at the VFW:
The VFW hosts an informal coffee just for veterans every Wednesday from 8:30-11a. Click to learn more.
The VFW Military Museum is open to the public, 10a-2p, every Wednesday and Saturday in the basement of the VFW Post 7034, 1193 Us Highway 21 S, Sparta, NC. Admission is free.

Grand Opening:
Kreations Unlimited Friday Ribbon Cutting
Don't be like Bob and put off getting your hair in great shape. Drop by Kreations Unlimited this Friday at noon for the ribbon cutting of Sparta's newest salon. Let owner Kari Johnson show you all the services she has to offer and, if you're getting shaggy, make an appointment. It is located at 1438 US 21 South, Sparta, in the newly remodeled wing of the historic pipe manufacturing building. Light refreshments will be served. 336-372-5665

Still time to promote your business to cruisers
Antique and classic cars will be riding historic US 21 this Saturday, April 13, to kick off the Take-A-Break from the Interstate promotion. They'll be encouraged to stop in Sparta in Farmers Hardware parking lot. The Chamber will be distributing goody bags to the first 50 cruisers. Drop off 50 flyers, coupons or promotional items and we will put it in the bag with the other goodies. It's a great way to make a new customer!
