DFC Connects with Faith Based Leaders, other Detroiters
Amongst the jam-packed duties of establishing a new organization and beginning to outline an implementation agenda, Dan Kinkead and Heidi Alcock dedicated their second week on the job to engaging community stakeholders. Amongst several meetings, they spoke with the Executive Director of Community Development Advocates of Detroit, made presentations to the Detroit-Wayne County Green and Healthy Homes Initiative; and met with 30 Detroit faith-based leaders to discuss the road ahead for Detroit Future City, including: - the importance of continued civic engagement to bring the five planning elements to life;
- working toward identifying the necessary policy changes that will help fulfill the goals and objectives of the strategic framework; and
- looking ahead to the collaborative actions that can impact our quality of life this calendar year.
