Black History Month
For Black History Month we would like to give tribute to some of the great Detroiters, both past and present, who've worked hard to improved the quality of life for their city. Detroit's greatest asset is its people; and each week in February we'll acknowledge people who were called to make a difference in the lives of those around them; paving the path toward an improved Detroit for the future.

We are giving presentations about Detroit Future City at community meetings and events throughout the city. Community Happenings
Black Ice Youth Hockey Invitational
Sports Dreams, a newly formed sports organization to expose Detroit youth to non-traditional sports, invites residents to come out to the inaugural Black Ice Youth Hockey Invitational, Friday, February 22-Sunday February 24.
Detroit youth will be able to see and participate in:
- Games (indoor and outdoor)
- Skills clinics/competitions
- Video presentations
- Nutrition Education
