THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
" There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so"
~ William Shakespeare

PRESIDENT'S LETTER

During the "welcome" section of our March14th Jim McDonald luncheon, we will have the Annual Meeting. I will briefly paraphrase the President's Annual Report sent in February. Our Treasurer, Frank Murphy, and I will be available for questions. The Nominating Committee Chairman, Ken Frasier, will present the names of those nominees approved by the board at the February board meeting. Unless other names are submitted, the board's approved list will be placed before the membership for election.

My term and some of our other board members ends April 30th. The normal term is two years which is staggered so only half the board leaves every year. The selection process includes the activity of the person in the organization and any other factors deemed important by the nominating committee. Those seeking office in the future should certainly consider membership and/or chairmanship of any of our smaller groups. Some of this year's candidates also assisted the person they intend to replace.

Current membership is similar to last year at this time. Please check your membership roster and directory to ensure we have your correct information. If your picture is not included in your directory, please send a photo to Fred Neighbors, or have him take your picture at the next luncheon.

There are many events going on at this time of the year, so please let us know in advance when you plan to attend one of our events. We need accurate meal counts before the event.

The members of your board are constantly tweaking a variety of areas. The major one is our website which is an ongoing process. The sound system seems to be good, and I believe everyone can hear the speaker. We used to have lapel mics which were not that effective, and now exploring the use of a headset that works with the sound system.

It is always a pleasure to attend our various meetings and events. Carolyn and I enjoy the presence of our long-term members as well as meeting new people having a variety of experiences in their lives.
