PRESIDENT'S LETTER
Welcome to 2016! We can all look forward to a continued  series of exciting events for our members and guests. As a comprehensive men's group, there is something for everyone. It is certainly a good thing to be able to pick and choose those activities in which we wish to participate. It is also a chance to explore something new such as our Book Club, Tuesday Club, Nature Club, Cocktails & Conversation, and our upcoming Dine-outs beginning in January.
Wayne Haupert organizes the Dine-outs which take place in January, February, and April. It is a great opportunity to meet others in someone's home/condo for snacks and wine before going to a restaurant for a pleasant evening. Singles and couples are encouraged to attend all three dates; if schedule permits, and asked to strongly consider hosting one of the dates. By offering to host one of the dates, it allows for smaller groups, which augments the purpose of the program-to meet new people and make new friends.
Our Social Committee under the leadership of Fred Tuttle has already met to begin the process of planning events for the 2016-2017 year. Contact Fred with ideas or offers of assistance.
The Nominating Committee is busy filling slots for the next season. Please feel free to contact me of your interest for a board position or becoming a member of one of our committees. You don't need to be elected to be a committee member, just meet the chairman of the group of which you have an interest.
In accordance to our bylaws, our board receives suggested names by the Nominating Committee for approval at our February board meeting, and then presents the names to the members at the March luncheon for election of officers. Our new board takes office in May.
On another note, our fiscal year is May 1st to April 30, and annual dues are due before April 30th for our next season. The thought behind this is to pay annual dues prior to summer vacations.
Another reminder is to register in advance for our luncheons and events so the appropriate chairmen don't lose more hair.
Please take advantage of our many events. Carolyn and I always look forward to meeting new people, and making new friends.
