PRESIDENT'S LETTER

Our membership continues to grow thanks to the fine recruiting efforts of our membership. Our new members hail from Canada, U.S., and Lebanon. As they are introduced at our next luncheon, please locate them and extend a "building bridges of friendship" welcome.

To all of our new members joining since May 1, 2014: our annual New Member Reception will be held at the Vineyards Country Club, March 25. Your personal invitation has been mailed. Please RSVP to our membership director Tom Bonfiglio [email protected]. Come meet your Board of directors and fellow new members.

Our February speaker, Mr. Powell Moore returned with a most timely topic of "U.S. - Russia: Is Conflict Inevitable?" As always, Mr. Moore was candid and clear in his remarks to which our luncheon audience responded most favorably. Over 125 of our members and guests were in attendance, including Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk.

We are all looking forward to our March luncheon speaker, Mr. Douglas MacKinnon presenting "China's Military Space
Program-A Threat to the U.S?" Mr. MacKinnon is a former White House and Pentagon official who worked in the Joint Command, and was press secretary to former Senator Bob Dole. Sign up early for this event as it is surely to be well attended.
Please see the special concern in the NOTICE TO MEMBERS section of this newsletter. I know you to respond to the mentioned item in the most courteous manner.

As a follow up to our Annual Strategic Planning Meeting a teamhas been formed and is preparing a membership survey. The focus will be to gather information as to what current and new events the club should retain and pursue. Additionally, the team will looking at ways to gather information regarding the talents and skill-sets of our membership. Your input into this effort is essential to maintain the vitality of our organization. Please respond promptly.

On March 1st we anticipate the launch of our new and improved website. Within that site you will find quick links for event registration and payment (and elimination of the problem of double payments), added personal information security features, lists of members attending specific events, an enhanced Members Only page, and so much more. We will also be adding a Members' Forum, in the near future. Please be patient with the new site: even though much testing has been completed, some bugs are surly to be found. Should you discover a usage problem, please use the Contact Us page to detail your concerns for quick problem resolution.

On March 9th we will be conducting our Annual Business Meeting at 12:00 noon. At that time we will be calling for a verbal votefilling two Board of Director vacancies for 2015-2017 term. After our lunch, we will conduct, as required by our By-Laws, a 15 minute conclusion to our business meeting. I urge you to attend, cast your vote, and stay for the concluding informational plus Q&A portion.
Have you signed up for our March 23rd Spring Cocktails and Conversation event? If not please do so right away. We are changing venues to the Glen Eagle Country Club. You will find the food, friendship and relaxing evening most enjoyable.

Also, if you have never participated in Dine-Out why not sign upfor our April 9th event. Dine-Out continues to grow in popularity. Please contact Wayne Haupert at: [email protected] for details.

Thank you Jerry Clair for volunteering as our new Director of Communications. Jerry's formal acceptance was approved at our February Board meeting. Member recognition: Mr. Harald Josefsen and Mr. Henry Kraus. Both of these gentlemen have been IMCA members since club founding in 1993. Thank you for your long standing service and dedication to the IMCA.

President

NOTICE TO MEMBERS

Recently we have noticed a large number of our membership reserving (best seat) tables in the dining room prior to the start of our luncheon. We have one or two (1-2) reserved tables for our speaker and our special guests. It is understandable that some members require a table closer to the speaker for better hearing purposes and, of course, that is very acceptable. However, at our last luncheon a great number of tables were reserved which complicated seating for others. Our club's purpose is to "Build Bridges of Friendship" within and outside the membership, and that purpose is generally defeated by reserving seats in advance. Please refrain from reserving tables.Take the time to enter the dining room as a group, and join your colleagues at a randomly selected table. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
