Season's Greetings! And season is in full swing here in Southwest Florida. Most of our friends have returned from their northern and European retreats and we welcome you back.
Did you attend the Cocktails and Conversation event on November 12th? This year was better than ever with an excellent turn-out. A very warm "Thank You" to Jerry Bobruff and Jim McDonald for all their hard work toward a successful C&C.
Our November speaker was Mr. Tarik Ayasum speaking on "ISIS/IS Whirlwind Conquests: Implications to the US and the West." This was Mr. Ayasun's second presentation to our club and as always he provided an enlightening and entertaining speech.
Our December distinguished speaker will be Ambassador Jose Antonio Zabalgoitia, Consul General (Miami) of Mexico presenting "Transforming Mexico." We will also be hosting a surprise guest at that luncheon so I hope you will join what will be an extraordinary event.
And of course this newsletter would not be complete without mentioning our Annual Dinner/Dance Gala to be held on December 3rd at the Vineyards CC. A great number of members and guests have registered (and thanks to everyone for respecting the reservations deadline of November 24th).
In other news, we have established an ad hoc committee charged with enhancing our website. Our goal is to improve the website so that it is even more user friendly and useful to you, our membership. Please be patient and don't be surprised if you receive a call asking for your input on this very important project.
Also, in the near future we will be conducting our annual Strategic Planning meeting. These meetings have proven to be especially important in discovering the needs of the IMCA. As in the past, a random selection of volunteer members will be asked to join.
Member recognition: Mr. Wolfgang Schulz (1995), Myron Kratzer (1999). Both of these gentlemen have held various positions of leadership and provided excellent guidance to our club. Thank You!
And finally, I wish everyone a Very Happy Holiday Season.
