IMCA 20 YEARS STRONG!
This month we formally celebrated our 20th Anniversary.
Twenty years indeed represents a very important and significant milestone for our organization. Its a time not only for celebration and (celebrating we did on March 22 at the Vineyards Country Club at a beautiful Cocktail and Conversation Anniversary Reception attended by 102 members and guests) but it is also a time for recognition and (we recognized four of our charter members and presented them with a beautifully engraved desk set, and we also honored four widows of former charter Members and Presidents.)
But above all it is a time for reflection on the past twenty years and what they may portend for the future of our club.
In the past twenty years we have been true to our Mission of "Building Bridges of Friendship" and by building bridges of friendship we have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that spreading friendship, camaraderie, connectedness and brotherhood is never and will never be a "Bridge Too Far".
From humble beginnings 20 years ago we have grown into a vibrant club and one of the premier social venues in southwest Florida with close to 200 members.
In the past 20 years we have laid the solid foundation upon which we can build our future and we can look ahead with great confidence to our future success in a world increasingly more in need of "Building Bridges of Friendship."
Our main season is slowly coming to an end and with it our fiscal year. Please remember to renew your membership for our next fiscal year by May 1. (click here for renewal of membership: www.imcofa.com/payments or send your check for $100 to P.O. Box 770034, Naples, FL 34107
Mr. Tom Monaghan, best known as the founder of the Domino's Pizza and philanthropist will be our last speaker for the season. His presentation is entitled "From Rags to Riches to Rags" an impressive story about how a young orphan built a gigantic international pizza empire. Mr. Monaghan is well known in the Naples area and we expect a large attendance so please sign up early but no later than April 3.
Our March speaker, Countess Kendeffy, German Consul General of Germany, provided us with great insights into the German political, social, cultural, and economic situation with particular emphasis on the Euro and Germany's role in the European Union. Her talk was extremely well received by all who attended our Luncheon.
In May we start our Summer Program and you will be receiving our Summer Program Speaker Schedule shortly. Please note that our summer Luncheon Programs are held on Wednesdays not Mondays. Our first Luncheon will be Wednesday May 8th and our guest speaker will be Mr. Gael De Maisonneuve, Consul General of France, speaking on "France and Her Role in the European Union."
For all you snowbirds that are leaving us in April to head up north I wish you safe travels and a wonderful summer wherever your travels take you. The rest of us will enjoy a very excellent Summer Program featuring four outstanding speakers right here in paradise.
