President's Letter  

    IMCA 20 YEARS STRONG!
 A warm welcome back to all of you who have spent the summer up north or abroad and I hope, you will actively participate in the many social, cultural, educational, and nature programs we have planned for you.  All of these programs are listed in the 2012/13 Event Schedule on the Speakers Pamphlet we mailed to you and on our website www.imcofa.com.
      We ended a very successful Summer Season Program with our October 10th Luncheon.  Our speaker was Dr. Jay Wolff, whose excellent presentation highlighted "South Africa - A Diamond is not forever."  Dr. Wolff masterfully combined a historical perspective with the current situation, which is deteriorating and "Quo Vadis Africa Australis" is anyone's guess.
     We will be kicking off our 20th Main Season Program with two major events:
     First, on Friday November 9, our Welcome Back Cocktails & Conversation Reception at the Vineyards Country Club followed on Monday November 12 by our Monthly Luncheon Program with Ambassador Francis Rooney speaking on "The Vatican - and its Geopolitical Influence."
     I hope to welcome all of you to these outstanding events and to the many 20th anniversary celebration activities our 20th Anniversary Committee is planning for you.  So please sign up early, as seating at some events is limited.

HOSPITALITY
 

        Starting with the October Luncheon we are preceding our Luncheons with a Hospitality Hour (Ice-breaker) 11:15 to 12:00 in the Main Reception Area at the Vineyards Country Club.  Besides our usual coffee/ice tea stations, servers will be circulating to take drink orders for those members who wish to have a cocktail/wine.  Drinks can be purchased via credit card or cash (tax and gratuity included).

      Upon arriving, members who have already paid for their lunch can proceed directly to the Reception Area.  Our hospitality table will be placed near the entrance for those who need to pay for lunch, order new name tags, or pick up club information.
      Members of the board and other committees will be in the Reception Area from 11:15 a.m. for interaction with everyone.
     Lunch will be served at Noon.
