IMCA Member

It is with deep sadness, grief, and loss we announce the passing of our friend, colleague and fellow IMCA member Robert (Bob) Holladay.

Bob, 80, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013.

Bob lived and practiced family medicine in Shawnee Township outside of Lima, OH from 1959 to 1995. Born in 1932 in Hillsboro, Ohio, he graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1950, and from Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1958. While attending OSU, he met and married Lavonne Lynd Beard of Columbus.

After medical school, Bob and Lavonne moved to Lima, with encouragement from Lavonne's sister, Bettirae, and her husband, R. Robert Kimes, who at the time pastored local Methodist churches, including Shawnee and Cridersville.

After completing an internship at St. Rita's Hospital, Dr. Holladay established his Family Medicine practice in Elmview. He practiced Occupational Medicine as the company physician for SOHIO Chemical Co. (Vistron) for 20 years.

He served as President of Lima-Allen Co Family Physicians, The Northwest Ohio Medical Society, and Lima Network, Inc.(Affiliate of Health America/Maxicare). He was the owner of Lima Industrial Medical Associates. He also served, in the past year, as Treasurer of the Retired Physicians of Collier County.

His hobbies include boating, reading, and photography. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his six grandchildren and creating greeting cards from Lavonne's paintings. In retirement, Bob and Lavonne divided their time between traveling overseas, and living in Naples, FL, Lima, OH and Southwest Ohio.

Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lavonne; sons, Scott (Diane) of Little Rock AR, Larry (Lori) of Ft. Thomas, KY, and Bruce (Dawn) of Ft. Mitchell, KY; and grandchildren, Morgan, Meredith, Evan, Emerson, Paige and Brett.

The family plans to hold a memorial service in Lima later this spring. Details will be announced later.
