Greetings!

Happy spring!

This month we're pleased to announce a new white paper for teacher educators, and new instructional videos about sustainability.  Don't miss these terrific resources.

We will continue to send out monthly updates, and encourage you to contact us with any questions or suggestions.
What are the competencies of teachers who can develop students as citizens in a sustainable society?  How can teacher educators develop these competencies in a range of teacher education courses?  Our new white paper answers these questions by providing guidelines for integrating sustainability across the teacher education curriculum.

The document includes a brief literature review of sustainability and its role in education, and an overview of sustainability teacher competencies aligned to national standards. The document then provides criteria and rubrics to assess the extent to which courses develop the desired competencies.  This must-read for teacher educators is a result of our national work funded by the Clarence E. Heller Charitable Foundation.

To find this resource, login to the CRC and select the "Professional Development" tab.  Scroll down to find this under "Curriculum Frameworks and Best Practices Briefs."

Are you looking for a quick review of sustainability basics?  Want to introduce your teacher education students to the main principles of sustainability education?  Then don't miss our new instructional videos.  These short pieces (under 5 min.) provide essential content, are useful for your own learning as well as classroom use.  Find these videos on our Vimeo channel:

For future access, the links are also embedded in the CRC in the Professional Development Tools section.

If you have any questions about your subscription please contact our Technical Support Specialist, Trent Stevens, directly at stevens@creativechange.net, or call our office, 734.482.0924.

Sincerely,
