Penn State will be one of 16 universities participating in the Kill the Cup 2015 University Challenge, a four-week nationwide campaign that encourages students, staff, and faculty across the country to reduce waste from disposable hot-beverage cups.
By participating you not only help Penn State's efforts, but also:
Keep cups out of landfills
Are eligible to win prizes
Work to beat Michigan (and other Big 10 competitors)
The University Office of Global Programs is known for providing faculty and students with global perspectives through study abroad experiences and other programs. Recently, the Global Programs Green Team learned the value of a global network in spreading and gathering sustainability knowledge and awareness.
Kill the Cup can help us change the way we think about carrying our coffee. This video provides some perspective on everything else that goes into making our popular morning beverage.
We understand that not all materials fit neatly into our recycling stations and some require special attention. We have created the Special Recycling Requests form to facilitate your extra recycling efforts, including requesting battery buckets and compost bins for your office.
