Greetings!
Something BIG is cooking at Model Motorcars !!!!
As you all know, we have a solid record of identifying opportunities to improve Pochers and developing parts that enchance not only the look of the models but, most importantly, the experience of building them. And, we all know that Pocher has really put us all through hoops of fire to build the wire wheels for our beloved cars. Granted, if you are patient enough and somewhat skilled, you can make Pocher wheels look decent and almost have fun in the process. But seriously, the "sandwich" approach is not prototypically correct and horror stories about Pocher wheels abound, as many models rest in shelves with one wheel halfway built...
But our prayers are close to being answered...our good friend, Dave DeBack, has been working on an improved system for building the Pocher wheels. They are not only prototypically correct, but makes assembling the wheels much easier! The "sandwich" is substituted by a one-piece resin casting where the spokes will be inserted through easy-to-drill pre-marked holes and the nipple will rest in a slightly larger hole...no more pushing (and breaking) the plastic Pocher parts !!! To top the excitement even further, the resin casting will be metalized as shown:

There are still some technical problems to be solved. We hope to have them available before the end of this year...if not sooner. The first one will be the Alfa, then the Rolls. And, finally the Mercedes.
