Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club, Palm Harbor, Florida - Over 1,200 members of the Florida PTA will gather for the annual Leadership / Convention, Friday, July 11th through Sunday, July 13th at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor.  President, Eileen Segal, will conduct the annual business meeting of the Florida PTA.  PTA members, from across the state, will attend the annual leadership training, a tradition for over 77 years.   Florida PTA received its charter from National PTA on April 14, 1923.

Convention delegates will have the opportunity to participate in over 100 different workshops.  In the business meetings, delegates will consider resolutions Supporting Florida's Homeless Students, Summer Learning Loss and Response to Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence in Schools.  They will vote on proposed amendments to Florida PTA Bylaws, and elect officers for the 2014-2016 term.

Speakers include Dr. John Fitzgerald Gates, and Saturday, during the Florida PTA and DOE Parent Involvement Awards Luncheon, Florida's Commissioner of Education, Pam Stewart, will address the attendees.
